Policies and Procedures
Class Expectations:
Always try YOUR best
Help others learn
Come to school prepared everyday
Use appropriate words and actions
Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself
Behavior Policy:
Every student is expected to try their best both in and out of the classroom. A huge emphasis is placed on taking responsibility for one’s own actions and facing the consequences that may result.
Positive behaviors may result in the following (but not limited to):
tickets
student choice activity
reward time
prizes
I firmly believe in a positive learning environment. When disruption takes place everyone loses valuable learning time.
Birthdays
Birthdays are important milestones for children and many families choose to celebrate their child’s birthday at school. In an effort to promote reading, celebrate birthdays, and take allergies into consideration, we ask that a book be donated to the classroom and/or students may bring individual non-food goodie bags for the entire class.
Bag Ideas: pencils, erasers, stickers, bookmarks, trinkets
Snack & Water
Your child should bring a healthy snack to recess each day. A healthy snack in the morning will give your child a boost of energy and help them focus during our lessons.
Students are allowed to bring a water bottle to school. Only water is allowed in the classroom!!
Lunch
Again, it is very important that your child eats a healthy and balanced meal at lunchtime. A balanced lunch is crucial to your child having a positive, productive, and fun day at school! Students may also purchase their lunch in the cafeteria.

Book Orders
Book orders will be sent home monthly. You will be able to order online with your credit card. This is a great way to expose your student to books and reading. You can even shop based on your child's Accelerated Reading level and purchase e-books through Scholastic. Ordering books also helps us build our class library since each time a book is ordered we earn class points!
